Automotive paint booths fall into two different categories: Cross-flows and Down-drafts.

Automotive “Cross Flow” Paint Booths

Cross flow automotive spray booths are designed so that the air enters into the paint booth through intake filters that are located at one end of the paint booth. The air crosses the length of the paint booth and is exhausted through exhaust filters located at the opposite side. The Front Air Flow “FAF Series”, Reverse Air Flow “RAF Series”, and Semi Down “SD Series” are classified (industry standard) as “Cross Flows”.

Automotive “Down Draft” Paint Booths

Down Draft automotive spray booths are designed so that the air enters into the paint booth through intake filters located in the ceiling. The intake filters are located in the ceiling of the paint booth (front to the back).  The air moves from the top of the spray booth down (vertically) to either a pit in the floor or exhaust filters located on both sides of the booth near the floor (shown). The Full Down Draft “FDD Series” and the Side Down Draft “SDD Series” are both classified (industry standard) as “Down Drafts”.
